- Partnership Teacher and Supervisor Support
Partnership teachers serve an important role in the future of education and are key individuals in mentoring student interns in their classrooms.
The edTPA is an embedded assessment that will occur during the internship semester. Teacher candidates will have access to handbooks, rubrics, and resources to complete the assessment.
Here are examples of past resources we have provided to support and guide pre-service teachers.
- The edTPA Cooperating Teachers brochure offers information and guidance to P-12 teachers as they partner with preparation programs to support candidates completing edTPA in their local contexts.
- The edTPA Guidelines for Acceptable Candidate Support is a resource for faculty, clinical supervisors, and cooperating teachers working with candidates who are completing edTPA.
- The Making Good Choices Guide will guide critical decision-making to successfully complete edTPA tasks.
- The edTPA Search Engine - a walkthrough of each task as well as resources for completing edTPA.
- The edTPA Acceptable Support video provides details on the acceptable support you can provide.
Need to Complete edTPA?
If you are a teacher who has not completed edTPA and is in the process of completing edTPA, Watson College of Education has just launched a self-paced course to help you navigate the edTPA process!
The UNCW Watson College of Education offers a fee-based, non-credit bearing, asynchronous edTPA support course utilizing the Canvas Learning Management System. During this course, licensure candidates and teachers will have access to supplementary documents, task overviews and materials to guide them through the registration process, development, and submission of an edTPA portfolio. The course is available to UNCW graduates who need remediation, students from other education preparation programs (EPPs), beginning teachers and alternative licensure candidates who are completing licensure requirements, as well as beginning teacher coordinators and licensure specialists who may be interested in learning more about the edTPA portfolio.
