Annual Program Assessment
The University of North Carolina Wilmington is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
The Office of Assessment, Accreditation, and Data Operations (OAADO) works with programs to improve and/or revise their program outcomes, student learning outcomes, and data collection strategies. The OAADO provides support for this process by consulting with programs to improve and/or revise their program outcomes, student learning outcomes, and data collection and analysis strategies; collecting key program assessment data related to graduate and alumni perspectives of their programs, enrollment data, and data that supports CAEP accreditation.

Planning and Self Study
Planning & Self Study, replacing Taskstream Accountability Management System (AMS), is an enhanced assessment technology by Watermark to streamline reporting processes for continuous improvement and to maintain critical compliance standards centrally for Watson College of Education. This system is designed to gather, analyze, and act on assessment data. A few enhancements offered are:
- Centralized and Streamlined Processes: centralizes program planning, effectiveness, and accreditation reporting. It directly connects planning and assessment data, making it easier to track progress.
- Integration with Other Data Sources: integrates seamlessly with other campus data sources (i.e., Canvas, Banner). It can be used for accreditation preparation, annual outcomes assessment, and program review.
- Impactful Pairing with Watermark Student Learning & Licensure: Faculty can streamline grading and assessment efforts, making data organization more efficient.
Taskstream
Taskstream LAT
Taskstream allows for secure collection of portfolio artifacts, rubric development, and monitoring and reporting through the Learning Achievement Tools (LAT). The Watson College of Education currently uses the LAT to develop the e-portfolio assessment system for the Program Evidences Folio required for initial teacher preparation programs, for the MSA Portfolio required for the Master of School Administration (MSA) program, and for other faculty-developed course projects and assessments. In the future, UNCW’s implementation of the new state-required assessment of teacher candidates - edTPA – will also be housed in Taskstream.
