Whether you are a first year freshman, a non-traditional student or a transfer, we have the academic programs to serve you.

Why 2+2?

Enrolled students receive targeted, one-on-one academic advising from the program director, an NC State employee and alumna, as well as expert instruction from UNCW faculty members in courses required for transfer admission. While at UNCW, students may take select engineering courses directly from NC State faculty through our state of the art video conference facilities. These are not online courses; they are interactive on-site versions of NC State engineering courses available only to 2+2 students!

Engineering Programs

2+2 Engineering The engineering 2+2 curricula follow as closely as possible to the first two years of study of the engineering curricula at NC State. This program is not a "pre-professional" program; it is a direct pathway to an NC State engineering degree. Participation in the 2+2 program does not guarantee admission to the NC State College of Engineering, however, we maintain a proven record of success. Discover
3+2 Computer Science & Engineering This 3+2 program offers you the opportunity to double major – earn a degree in Computer Science from UNCW in approximately three years and a Computer or Electrical Engineering degree at NC State in the final two years of study. UNCW students will complete the NC State engineering transfer admission requirements while completing their UNCW major and University Studies requirements. Explore Now
3+2 Physics & Electrical Engineering This 3+2 program offers you the opportunity to double major – earn a degree in Physics from UNCW in approximately three years and an Electrical Engineering degree at NC State in the final two years of study.
