Is the NC State Engineering 2+2 Transfer Program right for you? For high school students seeking freshman admission to the College of Engineering, our program provides an excellent parallel plan for students to consider. The end result...an engineering degree from NC State University.
Prospective students follow the same admission procedures as any UNCW student and should indicate 'Engineering' as their interest area on their application for admission. There are also options to select the 3+2 double major programs. It is important to indicate 'Engineering' or one of the 3+2 programs as a choice of interest on your application so the Program Director is assigned to you as an academic advisor.
Prospective 2+2 students are encouraged to take chemistry, physics, and as many mathematics courses as their high school offers, preferably through pre-calculus or calculus with the terminal course taken in the senior year. Upon admission to UNCW, entering freshmen are encouraged to attend the earliest possible orientation session to ensure availability of courses.
Have you taken collegiate courses at another university or community college? You are welcome to participate in the engineering transfer program at UNCW, however, your pathway may be condensed depending on previous credits accrued. All prospective transfer students are encouraged to contact the Program Director regarding transfer course equivalencies.
