Graduate Programs

Computer Science

Students can work toward one of two different master’s degrees offered through the department or participate in a program to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree.

Graduate Program Options

M.S. Data Science:

  • Operates on a 16-month, accelerated schedule
  • Emphasizes computational-based applications of traditional data analysis methods as well as current trends in data mining and machine learning
  • Incorporates a 6-month practicum with a partner organization

M.S. Computer Science & Information Systems:

  • Interdisciplinary program with faculty from the Cameron School of Business and the College of Science and Engineering
  • Part of the Professional Science Master's (PSM) Program, designed to allow students to pursue advanced training in science or mathematics and simultaneously develop skills highly valued by employers

Students who enter as undergraduates and know they want a graduate degree in computer science also have the option of choose our combined B.S./M.S. CSIS Program (4+1) program, which enables you to earn a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Computer Science and Information Systems in five years.

Data Science, M.S. The Master of Data Science is a professional interdisciplinary program that emphasizes computational-based applications of traditional data analysis methods and current trends in data mining and machine learning to turn data into information, and information into insight. Computer Sciences & Information Systems, M.S. The MSCSIS degree is part of the Professional Science Master's (PSM) Program. Professional Science Master's are new graduate degrees designed to allow students to pursue advanced training in science or mathematics, while simultaneously developing workplace skills highly valued by employers. Computer Science and Information Systems, Bachelor’s-Master’s Combined Program Earn two degrees in five years! You can count up to 12 hours of graduate-level courses to fulfill requirements for the B.S. in computer science and use those same 12 credits toward the M.S. in computer science and information systems.
