MSCSIS Program Overview

Master Business Skills in Computer Science & Information Systems

The Master of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems is an intensive interdisciplinary graduate program.

With faculty from both the Cameron School of Business and the College of Science and Engineering, the MSCSIS degree will prepare you for leadership roles in the development and implementation of computer and information systems. Experienced professionals from both disciplines facilitate significant classroom sharing of real-world and theoretical knowledge.

State-of-the-Art Facilities and Experiential Learning

There are several aspects of the MSCSIS program that supplement students' learning experience, including the Congdon School of Supply Chain, Business Analytics and Information Systems building on campus that features multidisciplinary, hands-on laboratories equipped with the latest information technologies and dynamically re-configurable research space; teaching faculty from both Computer Science and Information Systems disciplines; organizations that give students hands-on applied learning experiences; and an IS/CSIS advisory board made up of professionals from the area.

Professional Science Master’s Degree

The MSCSIS degree is part of the Professional Science Master's (PSM) Program. Professional Science Master's are new graduate degrees designed to allow students to pursue advanced training in science or mathematics, while simultaneously developing workplace skills highly valued by employers.

 

The program prepares you to work as a:

Business technology analysts assist in technology integration, including overseeing a company's current IT systems to ensure technology-related goals are met.

Security Analysts work to identify and correct flaws and develop solutions in a company's security system.

Software engineers develop, design and test software applications. They apply engineering principles to the process of building software.

Software quality assurance engineers and testers work to identify glitches and errors that prevent apps and computer programs from working as intended.

Learn to code and test software to ensure functionality and update software programs to refine cybersecurity and data storage capacities.

Alumni go on to further graduate study and careers in academia.
