Scholarships Offered at Cameron

  • Sheila A. Adams International Business Scholarship
    The scholarship is intended to assist an undergraduate student, with preference given to freshmen and students in the TransAtlantic Business School Alliance (TABSA). In the event there are no such applicants, upper classmen and/or Cameron School of Business students with an option in International Business shall be considered. The scholarship recipients will be selected based on demonstrated academic ability.  The award shall be evenly divided between fall and spring semesters.

  • Allsbrook-Rudd Scholarship in Entrepreneurship
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a need-based scholarship and the recipient will be selected on financial need as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Demonstrated academic ability and special achievement shall be secondary considerations. The recipient must be a resident of the state of North Carolina and have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. Preference shall be given to students majoring in the Entrepreneurship and Business Development program within the Management Department. The award may be given to undergraduate or graduate students. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • The Dr. Marcia J. Avedon ’83 and Mr. Charles G. Farrar ’83 Scholarship in Business

    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business.  The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement.  The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business.  The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students.  The scholarship may be renewed for one year to returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria.  The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the Fall and Spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • William Baggett Internship Award in Business
    The award is considered merit-based and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in engaging in faculty-mentored internships offered through the Cameron School of Business. Financial need will be a secondary consideration. Special consideration will be given to students pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting. In addition, and where possible, it is the donor’s preference that the award be given to students engaged in internships with small businesses, nonprofit organizations, other less mainstream firms, or to assist students pursuing unpaid internship opportunities. The award may be granted to undergraduate or graduate students. The award will be disbursed at the discretion of the award authority when the student is to be engaged in an internship. 

  • Bruce Barclay Cameron Foundation Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need will serve as a consideration in selection. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina Wilmington and be interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. Preference will be given to students who have graduated from a high school in southeastern North Carolina. Additional preference will be given to student veterans. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate students.  The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Margaret and Ned Barclay Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. It is the intent of the donor for this scholarship to provide at least two awards, one to a graduate student and one to an undergraduate student. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria.

  • BB&T Scholarship Fun
    Scholarships shall be awarded annually and shall be determined based on funds available and with reference to the rate of in-state student tuition and fees. If income from the endowment is sufficient, multiple scholarships shall be awarded, without invading the principal. Preference shall be given to the following: rising junior, junior or senior in the Cameron School of Business at UNCW and student with at least a 3.0 GPA.

  • Wes Berlin Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must be an undergraduate student admitted to the Cameron School of Business in pursuit of a degree in a marketing-related discipline. Preference will be given to a student who is a member of the Cameron Executive Network and/or member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Marketing Fraternity. The scholarship is renewable at the discretion of the award authority. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • The Booth Business Scholarship
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree in finance offered by the Cameron School of Business at UNCW. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement with financial need as a secondary consideration. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree in finance offered by the Cameron School of Business. Preference shall be given to undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in real estate. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • James C. Braye Scholarship
    This diversity scholarship will be awarded to a student(s) accepted into the Cameron School of Business. If the award amount exceeds tuition and fees for one student, subsequent awards may be made. It is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient(s) will be selected on demonstrated academic ability in accordance with the university's criteria for the award of merit scholarships.

  • Adam J. Brinkley Scholarship in Business Administration
    The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business in a finance discipline. The scholarship shall be awarded to undergraduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Cameron Executive Network Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduates who are student members of the Cameron Executive Network. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • Cameron Executive Network 20th Anniversary Memorial Scholarship
    This scholarship is to be used to support a student who is participating in the Cameron Executive Network and pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a need-based scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated financial need, as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business and be participating in the Cameron Executive Network. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Cape Fear Commercial Real Estate Women Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is being created by the Cape Fear Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) group. The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The award may be given to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship is renewable. Preference will be given to students who have an expressed interest in commercial real-estate or students who have demonstrated experience in or commitment to working with underserved or underprivileged populations within the real-estate profession.

  • Clancy & Theys Construction Company Scholarship
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship, and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. Preference will be given to a dependent of a current employee of Clancy & Theys Construction Company. If no eligible student is identified as a dependent, secondary consideration will be given to a student in the CSB in the following concentration areas:  Real Estate, Business Analytics, Marketing-Marketing Strategy, Management and Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Business Development. Special consideration will be given to students from New Hanover County, Pender County, or Brunswick County. The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students and may be renewed for one year to returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the Fall and Spring semesters.

  • Cornerstone Executive Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been admitted into the Cameron School of Business. The recipient must be a mentee in the Cameron Executive Network. The scholarship shall be awarded to undergraduate students in their junior and/or senior year. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The student must reapply to be considered for renewal. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Corning Credit Union Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected based on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must be majoring in a degree program offered by the Cameron School of Business. The award may be given to undergraduate or graduate students. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the Fall and Spring semesters.

  • Crider Family Graduate Fellowship in Business Administration 
    The fellowship will be used to assist a graduate student interested in pursuing a MBA degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The fellowship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability, leadership and special achievement, with preference being given to a student exemplifying the qualities of personal integrity and values-based leadership. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration offered by the Cameron School of Business. The fellowship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • Curley Capra Hunt Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Recipients must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. Preference will be given to students in marketing-related disciplines. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students and is renewable.

  • Davis Funeral Home Diversity Scholarship in Business
    The Scholarship is considered a diversity scholarship (as defined by the university) and a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to UNCW with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. Special consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated experience in or commitment to working with the African American community.

  • Daniel W. Desmond Endowed Scholarship
    The Daniel W. Desmond Endowed Scholarship will be awarded to a rising junior, senior, or graduate student who will be accepted into the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is subject to the criteria and guidelines adopted by the Cameron School of Business. A least one scholarship shall be awarded annually. If income from the endowment is sufficient, multiple scholarships may be awarded. The recipient will be a deserving student of high, demonstrated scholastic ability, need, strong character, and be supported by recommendations from the faculty of the Cameron School of Business. Because the scholarship is renewable contingent on continuing satisfactory academic progress, a new recipient may not be named each year. The same recipient may receive this scholarship for a period of time not to exceed two years.

  • DHG Scholarship in Information Systems and Cybersecurity
    The scholarship is being created by Dixon Hughes Goodman. The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the University of North Carolina Wilmington in fields related to Information Systems and Cybersecurity. Recipients will be students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the department that could lead to careers in IT consulting, cybersecurity consulting, or data analytics. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Preference will be given to students who have a GPA of or above 3.5 and have completed at least 60 hours of course work. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, M. S. Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or M. S. Computer Science & Information Systems. The award may be given to undergraduate or first year graduate students. The scholarship is non-renewable.  The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • Frank Dunne, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship
    The Frank Dunne, Jr. Memorial Scholarship, intended to be principally a merit-based scholarship subject to the criteria and guidelines adopted by the Cameron School of Business, and will be awarded to a rising junior, senior, or graduate student who will be accepted into the Cameron School of Business. One scholarship will be awarded annually. The recipient of the scholarship will be a deserving student of high, demonstrated scholastic ability, need, strong character, and be supported by recommendations from the faculty of the Cameron School of Business. Because the scholarship is renewable contingent on continuing satisfactory academic progress, a new recipient may not be named each year. The same recipient may receive this scholarship for a period of time not to exceed two years.

  • Dr. Fara Elikai Scholarship in Accountancy and Business Law
    This endowed scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability, special achievement, and financial need. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree in Accountancy and Business Law or Masters of Science in Accountancy. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Dean. The award may be split among deserving students at the discretion of the award authority and in accordance with the minimum scholarship award amount established by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.

  • Claude H. Farrell Scholarship in Business
    It is the intent of the donor that the scholarship be used to assist a student who exemplified Dr. Farrell’s support of the ideals of a free-market economy. The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree offered by the Cameron School of Business in the areas of economics or finance. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been admitted to the Cameron School of Business with an interest in pursuing a degree in the areas of economics and finance.  In the event that no applicant meets the minimum criteria, the scholarship will be awarded, following the intent of the donors as closely as possible. The award may be split among deserving students. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters. 

  • Felton Hayworth Scholarship in Business
    The Felton Hayworth Scholarship in Business will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Preference will be given to a student who is a permanent resident of Nash, Edgecombe, or Wilson County. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria.

  • Finley Family Excellence Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist in attracting high-ability students who demonstrate academic ability and special achievement and who are interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must be an incoming freshman who has been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is automatically renewable for a period of three consecutive academic years following the initial award, provided the recipient continues to remain a full-time student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • First Citizens Bank Scholarship (Formerly People Savings Bank, SSB Scholarship)
    The scholarship fund is intended to provide undergraduate academic scholarships for students attending UNCW and enrolled in the Cameron School of Business. This scholarship will be awarded annually. Because the scholarship is renewable contingent on continuing satisfactory academic progress, a new recipient may not be named every year. The same recipient may receive this scholarship for period of time not to exceed two years. Preference is given to students majoring in Economics and Finance. Preference in awarding the scholarship will be given to a high school student from New Hanover or Pender Counties in North Carolina.

  • Beth Dow Fortenbery Memorial Scholarship
    The scholarship is being created to assist students enrolled in the Cameron School of Business who will participate in an international program offered through UNCW. The award will be half in the fall and half in the spring semester. The recipient must have made a formal commitment to enroll in one of the programs offered through the Cameron School of Business and to participate in one of the UNCW sponsored international programs. The scholarship is intended to assist an entering freshman female student from North Carolina or Virginia. The scholarship is renewable for four years based on the recommendation of the scholarship committee. The award shall be evenly divided between fall and spring semesters.

  • James J. and Lucy H. Giammaria Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need will be a secondary factor. The recipient must be enrolled as a part-time (as defined by the university) undergraduate student, a North Carolina resident, and have been accepted into the Cameron School of Business. Preference will be given for returning students provided they continue to meet the award criteria.

  • Matthew D. Glova Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Lee and Edward Graham Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship, and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Preference will be given to unique individuals who have overcome difficult challenges. Financial need, as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, will be a secondary consideration. The donors intend for this scholarship to benefit someone who is a “good person” and would likely be overlooked by other scholarships. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business, Department of Economics and Finance. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria.

  • Gerald & Dolores Green Scholarship
    The recipient of this scholarship must have been accepted into the Cameron School of Business and indicated a commitment to major in accounting. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected based on demonstrated academic ability. The scholarship award will be valued at in-state tuition and fees to the extent endowment earnings permit. The award shall be evenly divided between fall and spring semesters. The scholarship may be renewed at the discretion of the scholarship selection committee.

  • Warren Gulko Memorial Scholarship
    The scholarship is being created by Information Systems and Operations Management Department and will be used to assist students majoring in operations management or information systems in the Cameron School of Business. The recipient must be a rising junior or senior in the Cameron School of Business majoring in operations management or information systems. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship with financial need being a secondary consideration. Proven academic performance, strong moral character and leadership (consider SAC member if applicable) is the primary factor in determining the recipient.

  • Steve Harper Scholarship in Business (Formerly Beck Family Scholarship & Geared Toward Entrepreneurship & Bus Dev)
    The scholarship is in honor of Emily Nolan and will be used to assist students majoring in Entrepreneurship and Business Development within the Cameron School of Business. The recipient must be a student entering his/her senior year who has been admitted to the Cameron School of Business and is majoring in Entrepreneurship and Business Development. The selection will be based on academic ability, as evidenced by a minimum of a 3.3 GPA and demonstrated extra-curricular leadership (consider SAC member if applicable)/involvement in campus activities and/or entrepreneurial endeavors.

  • Harris Family Scholarship in Accountancy
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business, Department of Accounting and Business Law. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business, Master of Science in Accountancy program. The Provost has ultimate discretion as to who receives the award in accordance with the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • Harris Family Scholarship in Economics
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business, Department of Economics and Finance. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and pursuing an economics degree offered by the Cameron School of Business, Department of Economics and Finance. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The Provost has ultimate discretion as to who receives the award in accordance with the award criteria. The Provost has ultimate discretion as to who receives the award in accordance with the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Heath Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need will be secondary consideration. The recipient must be majoring in a degree program offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Andrea and Drew Hendrickson Scholarship in AccountingRoger P. Hill Scholarship
    The scholarship is being created by Andrea and Drew Hendrickson in hopes to assist students who are involved in the community while trying to financially afford school without assistance. The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Department of Accountancy and Business Law. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Special consideration will be given to students who have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic or educational disadvantage or disabilities, and/or students who work part-time or have a demonstrated commitment to extracurricular activities. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Department of Accountancy and Business Law. The award may be given to undergraduate or graduate students. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • Hughes Brothers, Inc. Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist the University in attracting and retaining academically strong students who have expressed a strong interested in majoring in business.  The recipients must be incoming freshman who have graduated from an accredited North Carolina High School and demonstrated a genuine interest in majoring in one of the programs offered by the Cameron School of Business.  The recipients shall be selected by proven academic ability as a first consideration with need as a secondary factor.  The recipients must have demonstrated high potential for leadership and a concern for sharing his/her talents with peers and the community through activities in high school or the community.

  • Independent Insurance Agents of NC, Inc. Scholarship Fund
    One scholarship shall be awarded annually, the amount of which shall be determined based on funds available and with reference to student tuition and fees. Preference shall be given to the following: upper class undergraduate student who have been accepted for full time enrollment in the Cameron School of Business at UNCW. Student with a demonstrated commitment towards a career in insurance. Student with at least a 2.5 GPA and who is a legal resident of North Carolina.

  • Information Systems and Operations Management Scholarship
    The scholarship will be merit based as a first priority, with need, exemplary moral character and leadership potential (consider SAC member if available) serving as secondary considerations. The student must be a rising junior or senior. The award shall be evenly divided between fall and spring semesters. Recipients of this scholarship (in their junior year) are eligible to reapply if their grade point average is competitive with those of other candidates for the scholarship.

  • Institute of Management Accountants Wilmington Chapter Scholarship Fund
    One scholarship shall be awarded annually, the amount of which shall be determined based on funds available and with reference to an amount equal to in-state student tuition and fees. Preference shall be given to a rising junior or senior who will be enrolled full time in the Cameron School of Business at UNCW. Student with a demonstrated commitment towards a career in accounting. Student in good standing with the Cameron School of Business, with demonstrated scholastic ability and financial need.

  • Matthew Braden Ivey Memorial Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need, as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, will be a secondary consideration. Preference will be given to students who have transferred from a community college. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The award may be given to undergraduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority provided they reapply and continue to meet the award criteria.

  • J. W. Jackson Scholarship Fund
    Jackson scholars will be selected from students enrolled or eligible to enroll as juniors, seniors, or graduate students in the Cameron School of Business at UNCW. Recipients will be selected based on proven academic ability, leadership potential (consider SAC member if applicable) and high moral character. One half will be awarded in the fall and one-half will be awarded in the spring semester. Recipients of the J. W. Jackson Scholarship are eligible to reapply if his/her grade point averages are competitive with other candidates for the scholarship.  The award shall be evenly divided between fall and spring semesters.

  • Thomas N. Janicki Scholarship in Leadership and Service
    The scholarship will be used to assist students in the Cameron School of Business who have demonstrated a strong sense of commitment to service, leadership, and volunteerism. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must be an undergraduate student pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. Special consideration will be given towards students who have a demonstrated commitment to service, leadership, and volunteerism. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Jarrett Family Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business.  The scholarship is considered a need-based scholarship and the recipient will be selected on financial need as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Demonstrated academic ability and special achievement will be second considerations. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate students who are juniors or seniors. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority. 

  • June &Turner Johnson Scholarship
    The scholarship shall be considered a need based scholarship subject to the criteria and guidelines adopted by the university in determining financial need. The scholarship is limited to graduates from one of the New Hanover County High Schools (public or private). The Johnson scholarship is intended to assist a student who has been accepted into the Cameron School of Business and who has chosen to major in Accountancy. If no suitable candidate is available in accountancy, the scholarship shall be made available to a student in Management and Marketing.

  • Norman R. Kaylor Endowed Scholarship
    The scholarship shall be considered principally a merit scholarship subject to the criteria and guidelines adopted by the Cameron School of Business. One scholarship will be awarded annually; the amount of which shall be determined based on funds available and with reference to an amount equal to in-state tuition and fees. If income from the endowment is sufficient, multiple scholarships will be awarded. The Norman R. Kaylor Scholarship shall be awarded annually to a rising junior, senior, or graduate student who will be accepted in the Cameron School of Business. In recognition of Dr. Kaylor's contributions to the Cameron School of Business, the recipient of the scholarship will be a deserving student with proven scholastic achievement, leadership qualities (consider SAC member if applicable) and exemplary moral and ethical character. Preference shall be given to the student with entrepreneurial interests and characteristics and in good standing with the Cameron School of Business with demonstrated scholastic ability (.2 over Cameron's minimum GPA requirement) and demonstrated financial need.

  • The Kelbley Fellows Program
    The Kelbley Fellows Program seeks to supplement traditional educational scholarships with applied learning resources that remove barriers to student involvement in engaged, experiential learning.  The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree in the Cameron School of Business at UNCW.  The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement.  The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business.  Pre-business students or admitted students in any concentration may apply to the Kelbley Fellows Program at the conclusion of their freshman year.  Students chosen for the program are awarded a $3,500 scholarship in each of their remaining years (not to exceed three additional years beyond the freshman year) at UNCW plus additional funds of at least $1,500 to participate in applied learning projects during their college career as approved by the department chair of their concentration area.  The fellowship program awards one new student per year; thus, each year there will be three students in the program (sophomore, a junior, and a senior.)  The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Stephen and Kathleen Kelbley Scholarship
    The award will be awarded to a declared Business Major in the Cameron School of Business. The student must be a rising junior or senior. The scholarship will be merit based as a first priority, with need, exemplary moral character and leadership potential (consider SAC member if applicable) serving as secondary considerations. The award shall be evenly divided between fall and spring semesters. Recipients of this scholarship in their junior year are eligible to reapply if their grade point average is competitive with those of other candidates for the scholarship.

  • Jennifer Taylor King and Joseph L. King, III Endowed Merit Scholarship
    The scholarship is being created to recognize the contributions of women in the world of business. The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business at UNCW. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington who are attending classes on campus. Preference may be given to students entering into their junior year of study who have demonstrated an interest in the issues of diversity in business, including their representation and the expansion of their opportunities. The recipient must be a resident of one of the following counties in Southeastern North Carolina: Bladen, Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Duplin, Hoke, Jones, Lenoir, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, Robeson, Sampson or Wayne county. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Joseph Lewis King Scholarship
    The scholarship is to recognize the contributions of women to the world of business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability in accordance with the university's criteria for the award of merit scholarships. It is available to a female student with at least two semesters remaining until graduation at the time of selection, who is a resident of one of the following counties in Southeastern NC (Bladen, Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Duplin, Hoke, Jones, Lenoir, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, Robeson, Sampson, and Wayne) or a veteran of the US Armed Services residing in one of the above-mentioned counties.  Candidate must have been accepted into the Cameron School of Business and attending classes on campus at UNC Wilmington. The scholarship may be renewed based on a competitive process.

  • Mary Ramey King Scholarship
    The scholarship is to recognize the contributions of women in the world of business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability in accordance with the university's criteria for the award of merit scholarships. It is available to a female student with at least two semesters remaining until graduation at the time of selection, who is a resident of one of the following counties in Southeastern NC (Bladen, Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Duplin, Hoke, Jones, Lenoir, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, Robeson, Sampson, and Wayne) or a veteran of the US Armed Services residing in one of the above-mentioned counties. Candidate must have been accepted into the Cameron School of Business and attending classes on campus at UNC Wilmington. The award will be one-half for the fall semester and one-half for the spring semester.

  • Joseph Chadwick Koon Fellowship in Accounting
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a Masters in Accountancy. The Department of Accountancy and Business Law shall select the recipient using any committee structure or process deemed appropriate by the Dean of the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a Masters in Accountancy. The award may be given to graduate students and is not renewable. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • Lake Family Travel Award in Business
    The intent of the scholarship is to give students an opportunity to broaden their experience while at UNCW through study abroad. The travel award is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need will be a secondary consideration. The recipient must have been admitted to the Cameron School of Business. The recipient must plan to study abroad in a UNCW-sponsored, credit-bearing, education abroad program. The award may be given to undergraduate or graduate students. Preference will be given to a recipient with an interest in the area of Entrepreneurship and Business Development. The travel scholarship may not be renewed.

  • Landry Family Diversity Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist the University in meeting its commitment to maintaining a campus environment that values a rich diversity in its student body. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need will be a secondary consideration. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the Cameron School of Business. The award may be given to undergraduate or graduate students. Special consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated experience in or commitment to working with underserved or underprivileged populations, who have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic or educational disadvantage or disabilities, who are first generation in their family to attend college, or who have a record of community involvement and demonstrated leadership in working with historically underrepresented populations. “Preference for the first award will be given to students who show a dedicated commitment to one of the units within Diversity and Inclusion. Preference for the second award will be given to students who show a dedicated commitment to the Upperman African American Cultural Center.”

  • Jeff Lesley RE Inc. Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business, who are working a part-time job at least 25 hours per week. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The recipient must work a part-time job at least 25 hours per week with preference for students working 30 or more hours per week. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Madison S. Locklear Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Preference will be given to a student with a grade point average between 2.5 and 3.0 on a 4.0 scale - it being the donor's strong opinion that such students are often demonstrating admirable and meritorious academic achievement when one considers the other life challenges facing them. Financial need, as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, will be a secondary consideration. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. Preference will also be given to students who are attending classes on the main UNCW campus. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Charles R. Long Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship is awarded alternately by the Cameron School of Business and the Philosophy and Religion Department. Undergraduate recipients in the Cameron School of Business may be majoring in or planning to major in Accountancy. The committee should consider prospective recipient's needs and academic potential as the first priority in the selection process. Leadership potential (consider SAC member if applicable) and citizenship will be considered as additional factors in the selection process. At the donor's request, preference will be given to applicants from Southeastern North Carolina. Past recipients may be considered for continuation of the scholarship at the committee's discretion.  The award shall be evenly divided between fall and spring semesters.

  • Lower Cape Fear Human Resource Association Scholarship
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability, special achievement, and a career interest in human resource management. The recipient must have minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and satisfactory performance in all management-related courses. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business in disciplines related to human resource management. Preference will be given to students who are active in the UNCW Human Resource Association. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria.

  • Jeff Manning Scholarship in Entrepreneurship
    The scholarship will be used to assist students majoring in Entrepreneurship within the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected based on recognition from faculty as having demonstrated an “entrepreneurial spirit” or otherwise shown the willingness and capacity to own their own businesses. The student must have demonstrated strong academic achievement, as evidenced by a minimum 3.0 GPA. The scholarship is to be awarded to undergraduate juniors or seniors majoring in Entrepreneurship / Business Development and must have been accepted for admission into the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • John A. Marts Business Scholarship
    This scholarship will be awarded to a married, full-time student in the Cameron School of Business. The recipient is to be employed at least part-time during a majority of any year in which the award is received. Preference will be given to an accounting major with a GPA of at least 2.5. This award will be one-half in the fall and one-half in the spring semester.

  • Janet Marie McGee Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need will be a secondary factor. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business in the Department of Economics and Finance. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Sam ’02 and Heather ’05 Mintz Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need will serve as a consideration in selection. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. This award may be given to undergraduate or graduate students. The Provost has ultimate discretion as to who receives the award in accordance with the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • New Hanover County Estate Planning Council Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Open a Door Travel Award
    The fund is intended to provide support for students participating in the annual networking trip sponsored by the Economics and Finance Department at UNCW. The donor’s wish is for the award to benefit a dissimilar group of students, including, not limited to: students needing financial assistance, students with majors outside of economics and finance, students who have achieved high academic success, students with a demonstrated commitment to community service or extracurricular activities and/or students who have atypical backgrounds. Funds will be awarded to students who are participating in the annual networking trip. The purpose of the trip is to connect current Finance and Economic students with a cadre of Cameron School alumni. It is anticipated that the department will help coordinate time during the trip for the recipients of this award to meet with Derek Bomar, or appropriate colleagues, in order to fore connections in the industry.

  • Pearson Patterson Smith Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted into the Cameron School of Business majoring in economics, finance, management, accounting, or marketing. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students.  The award shall be evenly divided between fall and spring semesters.

  • Joseph S. Perkins Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. It is the wish of the donor that this scholarship would be used to encourage a student who values activism within the community in a spirit of promoting the wellbeing of others. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The award will be given to out-of-state students. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business with preference given to students in a discipline related to Accounting, Finance, Management, or Entrepreneurship. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters. 

  • Emma Gray Powell Endowed Memorial Scholarship 

    The scholarship is considered a need-based scholarship, and the recipient will be selected on financial need as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Demonstrated academic ability and special achievement will be secondary considerations. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate students, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority. 

     

  • PNC Bank Honors Scholarship Endowment
    The recipient must have been accepted in the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is merit based as a first consideration and need as a secondary factor. The recipients must have graduated from a high school located within a North Carolina county where there is a branch or office of Centura Banks, Inc.

  • Putnam Wall Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business, Department of Accountancy and Business Law. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Extra circular activities outside of the classroom should also be considered. Preference will be given to students who graduated from a North Carolina high school. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Department of Accountancy and Business Law. The award may be given to undergraduate students. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • Matthew J. Raines Scholarship in Finance and Economics
    The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need will be a secondary consideration. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business in a finance or economics discipline. The Scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students, with first preference to in-state students. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Dr. Howard S. Rasheed Diversity Scholarship in Management
    The scholarship is a diversity scholarship. The Department of Management shall select the recipient. The Director of the Upperman African American Cultural Center shall be given the opportunity to provide input into the selection process. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Department of Management. The scholarship shall be awarded to an undergraduate student in the Department of Management, with preference begin given to a rising senior displaying an interest in entrepreneurship. Special consideration will be given to underprivileged populations, who have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic or educational disadvantage or disabilities, who are first-generation in their family to attend college, or who have a record of community involvement and demonstrated leadership in working with historically underrepresented populations. The award may be split among deserving students at the discretion of the award authority and in accordance with the minimum scholarship award amount established by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Robert S. Rippy Scholarship in Entrepreneurship
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business in a discipline related to entrepreneurship. The Cameron School of Business shall serve as award authority and select the recipient using any committee structure or process deemed appropriate by the Dean. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need, as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, will be a secondary consideration. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business in an entrepreneurship-related discipline. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Kay Robinson Advancement of the HR Profession Fund
    Was established by the Lower Cape Fear Human Resource Association in honor of Ms. Robinson to provide education support for students majoring in Human Resource Management.

  • Sage Island Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need, as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, will be secondary consideration. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business, with preference being given to a recipient choosing a concentration on Marketing or Information Systems. The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Seahawk Vanguard Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need will be a secondary factor. The recipient must have been accepted for admission into the Cameron School of Business at UNCW. The scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student entering his/her senior year of study. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • David Andrew Seel Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have completed at least their freshman year and be in pursuit of a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The recipient must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2. Financial need will be a secondary consideration. It is the hope of the donors that the recipient be of high moral character and integrity and have parents born in the United States of America.  The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students. In addition, the scholarship is renewable providing the recipient continues to meet the criteria for award.

  • Patrick Skinner Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship is being created in memory of 1999 alumnus, Patrick Skinner, by his mother, Jeanne Hinson.  The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business.  The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement.  The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business.  The award may be given to a rising junior or senior undergraduate student.  The recipients must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Financial need will be a secondary consideration.  The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority provided they continue to meet the award criteria.  The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Dean.

  • Tim Slider “It’s Another Day in Paradise” Memorial Scholarship
    This scholarship exists to support outstanding students with military affiliations pursuing a degree within the Cameron School of Business. Eligible students include active duty and retired servicemen and women along with children and spouses of servicemen and women at UNCW. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The recipient must either be a current or previous military service member, a spouse, or a child of a military service member. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • William W. “Bill” Stanfield Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business, majoring in the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Program. The scholarship shall be awarded to undergraduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Ruth and Bucky Stein Scholarship – Business Administration
    The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid shall serve as award authority and select the recipient using any committee structure or process deemed appropriate by the Provost. The scholarship is considered a need-based scholarship and the recipient will be selected on financial need as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Demonstrated academic ability and special achievement will be secondary considerations. The scholarship will be awarded to students who are residents of North Carolina. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students and is non-renewable.

    The scholarship will be split into nine awards based on the following criteria:

    1. Two awards will be made to rising sophomore students regardless of major.
    2. One award will be made to a junior or senior majoring in Art & Art History.
    3. One award will be made to a junior majoring in Computer Science.
    4. One award will be made to a senior majoring in Computer Science.
    5. One award will be made to a junior or senior majoring in Environmental Studies.
    6. One award will be made to a junior or senior majoring in Nursing, Pre-licensure Program
    7. One award will be made to a junior or senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing Strategy.
    8. One award will be made to a junior or senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and Leadership.

  • Supernaw Student Leader Scholarship
    The scholarship is being created by 2007 graduates, Johanna Horton Supernaw and Kenneth Supernaw. The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The recipient should have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated leadership experience within the Division of Student Affairs. The award may be given to undergraduate students. Preference may also be shown to students who are pursuing a minor offered by the Department of Psychology. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Harvey J. Tate Jr. Memorial Scholarship
    Dr. Tate is creating this scholarship in memory of his brother, Harvey J. Tate, Jr., to honor Harvey’s love for UNCW and outstanding leadership. The scholarship will be used to assist students from Pender County with a farming background pursuing a degree at UNCW. This scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement with need as a secondary consideration. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The recipient must be a resident of Pender Country. Preference shall be given to students with a background in agriculture or farming. Special consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated experience in or commitment to working with underserved or underprivileged populations. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Judy R. Tharp Women Leaders Scholarship in Business
    In recognition of her leadership in credit unions and other businesses and non-profits, Judy R. Tharp seeks to inspire women to pursue business degrees from the Cameron School of Business which will assist them in preparing for successful leadership roles through furthering their education in business. The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a need-based scholarship and the recipient will be selected on financial need as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Merit will be a secondary consideration. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Vick Family Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Financial need, as established by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, will be a secondary consideration. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the Fall and Spring semesters.

  • Craig A. Wade Memorial Scholarship in Finance
    The scholarship will be used to assist students in pursuing a degree offered by the Department of Finance and Economics. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Secondary consideration will be financial need. Preference will be given to a student studying a finance related discipline. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The student must be a resident of the state of North Carolina. The award may be given to undergraduate students. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • Craig A. Wade Scholarship in Finance
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Department of Finance and Economics. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. Secondary consideration will be financial need. Preference will be given to a student studying a finance related discipline. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business, Department of Finance and Economics. The award may be given to undergraduate students.

  • Dr. William M. Wadman Scholarship
    The scholarship will be used to assist students interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an interest in pursuing a degree in an economics discipline through the Department of Finance and Economics in the Cameron School of Business. The award may be given to undergraduate or graduate students; however, first preference will be for graduate students. The award will be disbursed in equal installment sin the fall and spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • Elwood and Mary Walker Scholarship
    This merit scholarship is awarded to a rising junior or senior in the Cameron School of Business. Selection is based on demonstrated academic ability in accordance with the university's criteria for the award of merit scholarships and strong character as supported by recommendations from the faculty of the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is renewable for a second year contingent on satisfactory academic progress. The award will be disbursed one-half in the fall and one-half in the spring semester.

  • Slim and Edith Wallace Scholarship in Business
    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability and special achievement. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be interested in pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate students. The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Gwendolyn “Cookie” Ward Family Scholarship
    The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability. The recipient must have been accepted into the Cameron School of Business.

  • Michael W. Ward Family
    The recipient must have been accepted into the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and the recipient will be selected on demonstrated academic ability. The award will be half in the fall and half in the spring semester.

  • Robert F. Warwick Accounting Scholarship 
    This scholarship for merit is intended to assist students enrolled in the accounting program of the Cameron School of Business. The award will be half in the fall and half in the spring semester. The recipient must have been formally accepted into either the undergraduate accounting program or the Master of Science in Accounting within the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship is intended to reward academic merit. Preference should be given first to students who attended a New Hanover County high school. If there is no satisfactory candidate from this pool, then preference shall be given to students who attended a high school in Southeastern North Carolina. If there is no satisfactory candidate then the recipient shall be a student who attended any North Carolina High School.

  • William J. and Jacqueline S. Warwick Scholarship 
    The recipient must have been accepted into the Cameron School of Business and must qualify as an in-state student. The recipient may be an undergraduate or graduate student. The selection will be based on demonstrated academic ability, as evidenced by a minimum 3.3 GPA, with financial need as a second consideration. The scholarship is renewable, and the selection committee shall give preference to a recipient who continues to qualify for the scholarship until graduation. The award will be one-half for the fall semester and one-half for the spring semester.

  • The Todd 05’, 06M’ and Lauren Weeks Scholarship in Accountancy
    The scholarship is being created by Todd Weeks, a 2005 and 2006 graduate of the Cameron School of Business, and his wife Lauren Weeks, to assist the university in meeting its commitment to maintaining a campus environment that values a rich diversity in its student body. The scholarship is need-based, and recipients will be selected based on demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing an undergraduate degree offered by the Accountancy and Business Law Department. The scholarship may be renewed. Special consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated experience in or commitment to working with underserved or underprivileged populations, who have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic or educational disadvantage or disabilities, who are first generation in their family to attend college, or who have a record of community involvement and demonstrated leadership in working with historically underrepresented populations. In addition, special consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated experience in or commitment to working with the African American and Latinx communities. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the fall and spring semesters.

  • Wells Fargo Bank Scholarship Endowment (Formerly Wachovia)
    The scholarship is considered a diversity scholarship for African-Americans. The scholarship award will be half in the fall and half in the spring semester. The recipient must have been formally accepted into the Cameron School of Business as a student seeking a degree in business administration. The award may be made to either an undergraduate or a graduate student. The scholarship recipient will be selected based on demonstrated academic ability. The award may be renewed subject to the committee's recommendation.

  • Harold W. Wells & Sons International Business Scholarship
    The recipient must have been accepted into one of the Cameron School of Business International Programs. The award may assist in funding tuition and fees, as well as other expenses such as travel, associated with the international programs.

  • Kay Whitfield Scholarship in Business

    The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. This agreement supersedes The Kay Whitfield Scholarship in Nursing dated May 9, 2004. The scholarship is considered a need-based scholarship and the recipient will be selected on financial need as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Demonstrated academic ability and special achievement will be secondary considerations. The recipient must have been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and be pursuing a degree offered by the Cameron School of Business. The scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students.  The scholarship may be renewed for returning students at the discretion of the award authority, provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The award will be disbursed in equal installments in the Fall and Spring semesters; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the award authority.

  • Sally R. Wilkins Scholarship
    The Wilmington Business and Professional Women's Club Scholarship in memory of Sally R. Wilkins is to be awarded annually to a financially needful female student who plans to pursue a career in business or a profession. Candidates must be able to demonstrate academic achievement and clearly stated career goals. Recipient must be a female seeking to prepare for entry into or further development in a business or professional career. The scholarship will be non-renewable.
