Cameron Executive Network

Information for current and potential Cameron Executive Network (CEN) Mentors. CEN connects local professionals to CSB students as mentors and advisors.

Meet our Mentors

CEN Mentor Application and Information

Qualified mentor applicants should:

  • Provide an up-to-date résumé
  • Have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of recent managerial or leadership experience in a business environment
  • Have prior mentoring experience with employees and/or students
  • Once matched, be willing to mentor student(s) until graduation
  • Be able to meet with student(s) in person 1 to 2 times a month

Expectations

Each executive member who mentors a student is expected to work diligently to guide that student:

  • To become a leader in their chosen career
  • To live a fulfilling life and serve society
  • To build a personal network to reach those goals.

As part of that work, each mentoring executive member is expected to:

  1. Attend the "mixer" for meeting and pairing with prospective students.
  2. Meet with your assigned student(s) within two weeks after the assignment is made.
  3. Meet with your assigned student(s) at least 1-2 times a month during the school year.
  4. Coach your student(s) in their efforts to meet the expectations for student members.
  5. If your assigned student has interests in subjects outside your expertise, lead your student to get the expertise needed by networking with other executive members or experts outside the Network.
  6. Guide your student in developing an effective job search plan and resume.
  7. Attend planned events of CEN and ensure your mentee is aware of CEN events.

Our expectation is for executive members to mentor a minimum of 1 undergraduate student during each school year.

Mock Interview Program (MIP)

Each semester CEN executives volunteer their time to conduct mock interviews with each BUS 206 (Business Essentials) student. This is a great way for current CEN mentors to get to know CSB students who are not currently in the Cameron Executive Network. It also gives business students a glimpse of what a mentoring session with a CEN mentor would be like if they were to join CEN.
