Placement will help increase your self-awareness when confronted with situations that challenge your attitudes and values. To help bridge the transition from student to worker, you will attend a weekly integrative, strengths-based seminar along with field placement.
Participation in this seminar is vital to placement because it gives you a chance to discuss your field experience. Seminar content is developed around issues every student experiences and copes with in placement. In addition, you will complete a series of written and oral assignments to continue sharpening your social work skills.
Refer to the Field Education Manual (PDF) for information about course content and criteria for admission into the field practicum courses.
