The College of Health and Human Services is dedicated to experiential learning is a crucial aspect of UNCW education. Through state-of-the-art, real-world learning experiences, College of Health and Human Services students are prepared to become professionals who are trained to work in interprofessional teams to address real-life community challenges.

In our lab spaces, you’ll apply knowledge, skills and concepts learned in the classroom to authentic situations, thus gaining a deeper understanding of the subject matter you’ve been studying.

Veterans Hall

Veterans Hall laboratories allow health and human services students to practice skills – giving them the opportunity to learn beyond the traditional classroom through hands-on experiences, peer to peer activities in laboratory settings, standardized patient experiences, simulation learning, and real-world client interactions. These opportunities prepare our graduates to join tomorrow’s health and human services workforce.

McNeill Hall

McNeill Hall’s Simulation Learning Center is a 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the art learning center that provides future nurses with realistic simulation technology across nursing specialties to prepare professionals for a 21st century nursing practice. Students train in a challenging, safe environment and gain hands-on experience to develop confidence in the clinical setting.
