Registered Social Media Accounts

A social media account must be registered to be officially recognized by the university. 

Registered social media accounts get support from the official university social media accounts including re-posting, tagging and commenting. Additionally, registered accounts gain access to a suite of photos and assistance with using official UNCW logos.

Registering Your UNCW-Related Account

What are the benefits of having a UNCW-registered social media site?

  • It will be listed on the UNCW Social Media Directory, which is aimed at driving users to your account.
  • It will be followed by UNCW’s official profiles on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Can use your social media accounts in the "sticky social media buttons" area. 

Who should apply to register?

  • Any UNCW college, department, group or program wishing to maintain a social media presence with a university affiliation.
  • At least two UNCW employees must be registered as the account administrator the purpose of identifying the account’s point person and to provide continuity in the event of staff changes.

Should existing social media accounts be registered with the university?

  • Yes. In order to be officially recognized by the university, an account must be registered. Please fill out the registration form on the OUR social media web page and someone will contact you within five days.

Register Your Social Media Account

Please fill out the registration form to begin the process of registering your social media account. This will allow the account to be officially recognized by the university. Once the form is completed, an OUR administrator will contact you.
