Opening Faculty Lounge, Warwick Center
Academic Affairs and Business Affairs have collaborated to construct a Faculty Lounge in Room 152 of the Warwick Center to allow faculty to gather in a relaxed setting. The goal has been to create a collegial environment for collaboration, reflection, and small-group discussions that will encourage and stimulate interdisciplinary research, teaching partnerships, and other interactions.
Access to the Faculty Lounge will be through a swipe-card (UNCW One Card) secured door across the lobby from Student Accounts and is open to all faculty with university One Cards.
The Lounge is equipped with lounge furniture, tables and chairs, restroom, microwave, sink, cable-connected television, wireless network service, and art from the Randall Library Art Collection. The Dub’s Café “all-you-care-to-eat” dining facility is adjacent to the Lounge.
The anticipated completion of the swipe-card access feature is early September. Academic Affairs, Business Affairs, and the Faculty Senate will coordinate a ribbon-cutting ceremony and formally open the facility shortly thereafter.
