Math Services Tutor

Math tutors conduct drop-in tutoring sessions and occasional one-on-one or small group sessions with students in Math and Statistics courses. Tutoring takes place in the ULC Learning Lab during office hours. Math tutors must be outgoing, quick thinkers able to work in a sometimes loud and often changing environment. All Math tutors must engage in a tutor training program, which has received International Tutor Program Certification status through the College Reading and Learning Association.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Upper-class standing (sophomore, junior, senior, grad student)
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Completion of course(s) to be tutored with no lower than "B" grade OR documented comparable subject mastery (e.g. CLEP scores)
  • Faculty recommendation
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills
