What are Learning Outcomes?

"Learning outcomes are statements of what is expected that a learner will be able to do as a result of a learning task or activity" (Jenkins and Unwin, 2004).
As educators, we hope that students will learn as a result of participating in curricular and co-curricular experiences. How learning is defined varies among academics, practitioners, and researchers; however, most would agree that learning is the primary enterprise of any university.
