  • Full-time staff are here to help all of our constituents: students, employers, faculty, staff, and UNCW alumni
  • Career Center staff work in 3 majors areas: student-facing, employer-facing, and in administrative capacities
    • Student-facing staff members utilize a liaison model for each of the UNCW Colleges and provide strategic knowledge for targeted population
    • Employer-facing staff members are highly skilled in helping employer partners connect with their preferred candidate populations. 
    • Administrative team members help our office run smoothly and can assist with a variety of needs

Ashley Navarra

Office/Budget Manager

Supervises the Administrative Associate and front office student employees, overseeing day-to-day operations. Maintains financial spreadsheets and records, analyzes financial data, and provides monthly budget reports. Processes purchase orders through uShop, maintains software subscriptions and memberships, reconciles p-card transactions in WORKS, processes travel and reimbursements through Chrome River. Serves as the Assistant/Coordinator role in PeopleAdmin, schedules interviews, processes travel for candidates, enters Electronic Personnel Action Forms, and provides onboarding for new employees. Serves as office Leave Keeper and manages computer inventory and fixed assets.

Sarah Stoker

Administrative Associate

Serves as the receptionist for the Career Center, manages pending accounts and job postings in Handshake, provides Handshake support to students, alumni, UNCW departments, and employers (helping with navigation, troubleshooting, accountant set up, event registration, and posting positions), monitors the Career Center email (careercenter@uncw.edu), schedules appointments for UNCW students and alumni, processes daily deposits.

How Student Workers Support the Career Center

  • Serving as a representative of the Career Center to students, alumni, faculty, staff and employers
  • Assessing the needs of students to direct them to proper services and suggest ways that the Career Center could benefit them
  • Helping with general office/clerical work, filing, answering phones, data entry, and special projects
  • Assisting with job fairs, workshops, and marketing events
  • Demonstrating the following skills: strong work ethic, customer service, interpersonal communication, positive attitude, professionalism, and organizational skills
