Pharmacy

    • Faculty and staff can purchase over-the-counter medications.

  • Refills may be called into our 24-hour line & picked up later to avoid waiting.

FAQs

Have the prescriber call the UNCW Pharmacy at 910.962.3016 or fax the prescription to 910.962.7016. We fill Rx’s from outside prescribers, so long as the medication is on our formulary. In cases of non-formulary medications, we may be able to offer suggestions for formulary alternatives or help network community resources.

The UNCW Pharmacy does not stock any controlled substances. These prescriptions will need to be filled at a local drug store.

Over-The-Counter medications the pharmacy has in stock include:

  • Cough and Cold
  • Eye Care
  • Feminine Hygiene
  • First Aid
  • Foot Care
  • Oral Hygiene
  • Pain Relief
  • Stomach Care
  • Vitamins
  • Miscellaneous
    • (i.e. sun screen, epson salt, orajel)

The UNCW Pharmacy does not contract with any insurance companies to bill directly. We provide receipts & print outs for reimbursements & filing insurance claims if needed.

You may pay by cash, check, Seahawk Bucks, Visa, MasterCard, Debit Card, or Student Account (for currently enrolled students only). You must present your student ID card each time you visit the pharmacy.

Fall and Spring Semester hours:

  • Monday – Friday
    10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Summer hours may vary.

The pharmacy is located in DePaolo Hall on the second floor, in the Abrons Student Health Center.

If the prescription was originally filled at the UNCW Pharmacy, leave a message on our convenient 24 hour voicemail system at 910.962.3016. Always have your prescription number available. If the prescription was originally filled at another pharmacy, please have your physician fax a new prescription to the UNCW Pharmacy to 910.962.7016.

Any student who is currently registered for classes is eligible to use Pharmacy services. During the summer, any continuing student enrolled for the Fall Semester is eligible.
