According to a survey done by the national organization, Swipe Out Hunger, that supports meal swipe donation programs like Swipes for Seahawks, thanks to donation programs like ours:
- 63% of students feel less stress and anxiety about where they get their next meal
- 65% of students are able to eat more regularly
- 61% of students feel that their college is more supportive of students like them
“My academic performance has improved, socially I feel more connected to campus, and my mental health is much better on the days when I am able to eat on campus.”
Interested in donating? Students must have an eligible meal plan and can only donate ONE guest meal per semester. Our donation campaign happens at the end of each semester (mid-November through early December and mid-April through early May). Check out our WaveLink page for this semester’s dates!

UNCW students experiencing food insecurity are eligible to apply for meal swipe assistance during the fall and spring semesters (swipes are not available in the summer). You must be currently enrolled and can apply by completing the on-line application, and our team will follow-up via email once the application has been reviewed. Once approved, meals will be added to your OneCard for immediate use.
**The Swipes for Seahawks application is closed for spring 2024. The application will reopen on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 for the fall term.**
