We offer a variety of weekly and monthly programs each year that keep our queer students connected and provides an opportunity for individuals to come together and build community.
For more information, contact the Mohin-Scholz LGBTQIA Resource Center's Program Specialist, Asher Persin at persinm@uncw.edu.
LGBTQIA+ identifying students, faculty and staff gather to learn from and support each other. All LGBTQIA identifying individuals are welcome to participate through conversation, active listening, or just being present in our safe and queer space.
Join us in the center to play our favorite video games on the Nintendo Switch. Feel free to bring your own games, systems and controllers.
Students may play solo or form teams of up to four players. Categories include television, film, history, books, art and music.
Anti-LGBTQIA+ bias and prejudice affects all students and it is everyone's collective responsibility to work against it. While there are many out and empowered LGBTQIA+ students who are more than capable of standing up for their own rights, straight allies have a special role to play in Safe Zone programs. A straight ally is any non-LGBTQIA+ person who supports and stands up for the rights of LGBTQIA+ people.
