- About the GSA
The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is comprised of students from across the academic disciplines. Every year, students join GSA because of their interest in forming tighter UNCW graduate community. The main goal of the GSA is to offer students a space where they can meet, ask questions of their fellow students, discuss challenges, request assistance or find ways to improve their overall experience at UNCW.
GSA is your student organization, whether you are in a thesis or non-thesis track and no matter what discipline or program you have selected. We hold monthly meetings in which we discuss current issues that concern students across campus and invite specialists who improve our understanding of the university and other aspects of graduate education. We offer financial assistance and a venue for constructive dialogue, as well as educational, organizational and emotional support. Each student who is an active participant of the GSA can benefit from travel grants for conferences and travels related to your studies, even if you are not a presenter. We also encourage students to profit from the non-academic support services that the Graduate Student Life program offers, with various activities geared to improve your time here.
"The Graduate Student Association shall serve as the student government association representing all graduate students at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. The purpose of this organization shall be to encourage, recognize and assist all graduate students academically and socially, as well as to promote the interests and welfare of graduate students within the university."(Article IV, Section 1 of the GSA Constitution)

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
The Graduate Student Association (GSA) supports Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. We, as we all are, are a work in progress and are developing an action plan to better support DEI efforts among UNCW Graduate Students. We will update as we develop these plans and support measures.
