Campus Activities and Involvement Center (CAIC)

Please ask the Involvement Specialist (IS) if you need these supplies.

• Chalk, paint, paint brushes
• Die cut machine materials
• Button maker materials
• Helium tank: You must provide your own balloons- Limit 50
• Rental tent and sound systems
• Arts & crafting: Banner and construction paper, crayons/markers, glue, tape, stapler, scissors.
• Spray paint for campus rocks will be available!
• Banner: Grommet maker and string/zip ties (you bring the designed banner, CAIC attaches the required approval form)
• Laminator: The Involvement Specialists will laminate items for you; small and large laminator available
• Poster printer: The Involvement Center has a large-scale poster maker (movie size posters 24" x 36" or smaller) and can will print up to 5 per semester for your organizational needs. Please email your design to the Involvement Center at activities@uncw.edu
• Communication: Every student organization receives a mailbox. Please notify the IS staff that you are picking up mail. They will retrieve mail for you. *As a note, each organization is expected to check their mailboxes regularly; the CAIC office will email the primary contacts for the organization only if the office receives packages, not regular mail. 

The Involvement Center maintains banner poles at various locations around campus (see locations below). These banner poles are great ways for registered student organizations to advertise upcoming events, recruitment opportunities and much more.

Here are some basic banner policies that all users should be aware of:

• Banners are typically made using one full-size flat bed sheet.
• Banners must be approved by CAIC staff thus reservations MUST be done in person at the Involvement Center.
• Please bring the completed banner with you to register.
• Reservations can be made for up to two weeks (14 days).
• All banners must have the name of the sponsoring registered student organization clearly noted with contact information (i.e., email, social media handle).
• Banners may not be taped to poles or walls at any of our locations (please use string, zip ties, or the like so that banners may be easily cut down at the end of the reservation).
• Banners must be removed within 24 hours of their event or they will risk being thrown away.
• When decorating banners, Texas Markers and paint may not be used inside our facilities.

CAIC provides students organizations with guidance on how to maximize their outreach efforts in-person and virtually. CAIC recommends utilizing WaveLink as your priority outlet for events, interest meetings and other opportunities that your organization provides.

WaveLink is the source for which CAIC pulls information for Hawk eNews, @uncwhen, university bathroom calendars, TVs in Housing & Residence Life - and all events in WaveLink synchronize automatically with Corq, a mobile-app for all UNCW students to see events on-the-go.
