Upperman’s Excellence Project is designed to emphasize the academic retention, persistence, and success of African American first year undergraduate students at UNCW.
Through intentional, holistic support the program seeks to mitigate issues that may hinder academic success. These issues may include adjustment to campus climate and culture, identity development and social acceptance, academic planning, and access to resources within Upperman and across campus.
Excellence Project Mentors help students navigate the university while creating pro-social experiences and dimensions of identity based on scholarship and achievement. Contact us to learn more about the program!
