Marine Debris

Marine debris, or trash that ends up in the ocean, poses a widespread and persistent threat to our oceans and waterways. Defined as any solid material disposed of or abandoned into marine environments, it includes items like plastic bags, cigarette butts, and abandoned vessels, often causing harm to marine life and habitats. Despite some items breaking down over time, many persist indefinitely. Fortunately, this problem is preventable, and we want to include you in being part of the cause.
