2023 Winners

Congratulations to our Competition Winners!

The 2023 winners were announced Friday, April 28th at UNCW Kenan Auditorium where six finalist teams competed for a top prize of $1500.

Social Enterprise Track

  • 1st Place: Period Warriors, Isabel Garcia (Isaac Bear Early College High School)
  • 2nd Place: A.C.R.E.S., Ian Itzkowitz (Cape Fear Academy)
  • 3rd Place: Smoke Screen, Houston Sutton, Samuel Medlin, and Alex Cai (Hoggard High School)

     

For-Profit Enterprise Track

  • 1st Place: Sharp, Andres Valdiri (Isaac Bear Early College High School)
  • 2nd Place: SnapRecipes, Hudson Huffman (Cape Fear Academy)
  • 3rd Place: Rustoration, Owen Phillips (Hoggard High School)

Students submitted ideas in January and then all submissions were reviewed by UNCW Entrepreneurship students. Finalists met with CIE Mentors to enhance their business idea and presentation. Finalists presented in front of a panel of seven judges and over two hundred of their peers from various regional high schools.

Congratulations to everyone who submitted ideas, attended, and won! We can’t wait to see what you do with your entrepreneurial mindset, leadership skills, and great ideas next!
