Cadence for Nonprofit Development
The Cadence program helps nonprofits develop strategically in all of these areas:
- Programming
- Advocacy
- Human Resources
- Volunteer Management
- Resource Development
- Financial Management
- Board Development
The first step is an "organizational inventory" of your nonprofit's current capacity in each area. Once complete, you will have access to consulting services from QENO that are customized to meet your immediate needs AND build capacity at a sustainable rate. We offer easy-to-use tools for planning & implementation, data management, data-driven goal setting, conducting assessments, and writing or revising policies.
To learn more and begin your organizational inventory, please attend QENO's free monthly Cadence Workshop series. Dates, times, and registration links are available on the QENO homepage under "monthly events & trainings". Workshops are open to all staff and board members - we highly recommend bringing multiple people from your organization and attending as regularly as possible to speed up the inventory process.

For nonprofits ready to adopt change management processes, Cadence provides a more actionable alternative to traditional strategic planning. We offer a three-hour leadership retreat for executive staff and the board of directors as an orientation to using Cadence in this way. Contact Sara Fletcher Daniels, QENO Director, at danielss@uncw.edu to inquire about scheduling a retreat.

What does Cadence cost?
Monthly workshops are free to attend. Other services are charged on a sliding scale when organizations have funds budgeted for consulting/training/development services. For organizations that don't have funds available, QENO will provide a scholarship for up to two hours of consulting per month for one year. During that time, we can help increase your chance of getting capacity building funds by validating the need and verifying your progress for funders.
