Senior Citizens (65+ years of age) Tuition Free Audit

Effective Fall 2017, the General Assembly authorized the Board of Governors to promulgate rules permitting those who have attained the age of 65 and who meet applicable admission standards to enroll to audit courses tuition-free on a space available basis.

Senior citizens 65 and older who are not currently enrolled at UNCW and wish to audit a class will need to submit an online application within SeaNet (Audit & ESL Application (Undergraduate)). Please be sure you have the instructor's permission to audit each course and the Course Registration Number prior to submitting the application. The application must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar before the end of the add/drop period. An application fee of $80 will be requested prior to submission of the application. That application fee is waived for UNCW graduates (select 'Pay Later' at the conclusion of the application). The Office of the Registrar will register you for the Course Registration Number indicated.

Senior citizens who wish to take courses for credit must apply through the Admissions Office. Tuition and fees will apply.

If you register for more than four (4) credit hours, you will need to comply with the immunization requirements under North Carolina state law. Please contact Student Health Services at (910) 962-3280 for more information.
