Latin Honors for spring 2020 will be calculated after final grades are posted. Latin Honors will print on student’s transcripts and diploma. Students will be notified via email if they qualify for a distinction.  Distinction cords will be distributed prior to the in-person commencement ceremony.

Additionally, due to guidance issued from the UNC System Office in response to the COVID-19 situation, the UNCW Registrar’s Office will only be operating and serving customers in an electronic format at this time and until further notice. Phone correspondence may be minimal, so we highly encourage email as the preferred means of communication.

The Office of the Registrar, located in James Hall, supports UNCW’s mission by providing academic support services including student services and academic records management; degree and diploma processing; student academic information systems management; administration of regulations and policies of the Faculty Senate, academic eligibility of athletes and, as prescribed in the policies of the university and the Code of the University of North Carolina, maintenance of archives; and system-wide reporting (in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment) of enrollment, courses and degrees awarded.

The Office of the Registrar:

  • Maintains the academic record of each student who enrolls at the university;
  • Provides information about registration, academic records, residence status, and degrees while protecting the privacy of the individual;
  • Uses the latest technology and procedures that will enhance student, administrative, and faculty services while ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and security of academic records and information;
  • Provides leadership and assistance in the development and modification of policies, procedures, and systems.
