Megan S Bolden
Assistant Professor
Dr. Megan Bolden has been a faculty member in the School of Social Work since fall 2023, serving in key leadership roles such as Assistant BSW Coordinator, HS2SW Coordinator, and Assistant Field Coordinator. In these positions, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the school’s mission and supporting the professional growth of social work students.
Dr. Bolden teaches a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Issues in Diversity for Generalist Practice, Social Diversity and Social Work Practice, Social Welfare Policy, Field Practicum, Field Seminar, and Research Methods. She is passionate about fostering a dynamic learning environment where students critically explore strategies for social change. Her teaching emphasizes integrating research into practice, equipping students with evidence-based tools to address complex social issues, while promoting both practical skills and a deep understanding of the theoretical frameworks that underpin culturally competent social work.
Prior to joining the School of Social Work, Dr. Bolden earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Master of Social Work (MSW), and, in 2024, completed her Doctor of Education (EdD) in Higher Education Leadership, all from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
