Echo360 & Horizon Retirement Dates Announced: What You Need to Know

As we near the end of the spring semester, we are marking an important milestone with the confirmed retirement dates of Horizon on May 15 and Echo360 on July 31.

Great news: the final migration of all UNCW instructional media and links from Echo360 to Panopto is now complete. This milestone marks the completion of UNCW’s upgrade to Panopto’s enhanced, feature-rich platform for creating, managing, and sharing instructional media. 

To ensure your materials are fully accessible, please complete the following action items:

1. Verify Content:
Review your Panopto folders and Canvas courses to confirm that all instructional media and links are functioning correctly: Migration Checklist
2. Manual Transfers- If you are missing videos, follow these steps to restore them:
3. For any users missing videos in your Panopto folder, please follow these instructions to move videos from Echo360 into Panopto: How to Move Videos from Echo360 to Panopto
4. For any users who have an Echo360 link still in Canvas, please replace the link with the corresponding Panopto video: How to Embed Panopto Videos in Canvas Course

Final Deadline:

Please complete all verification and any necessary manual transfers before the conclusion of the summer II term. Access to all Echo360 content and links will end permanently on July 31, 2026.
