Windows 11 Update: Classrooms & Labs Up Next

We’re Ahead of Schedule!

With Microsoft ending support for Windows 10 on Oct. 14, 2025, we're excited to share that we're ahead of schedule in our transition to Windows 11! To date, 44% of campus devices have been upgraded to Windows 11, and that number continues to grow every day.

We appreciate the campus community's support and want to provide an update on our progress and what's ahead.

Windows 11 Rollout For Classroom & Labs

Beginning the week of May 12, we will start upgrading all classroom instructor stations and computer lab devices to Windows 11. We've scheduled upgrades for this week to minimize impact, taking advantage of the time when labs and teaching stations are not scheduled for use.

Here's what's included:

  • 1,100 lab devices
  • Approximately 250 classroom teaching stations

A small group of about 90 classroom machines will not be upgraded during this window due to hardware limitations. These machines are scheduled for replacement over the summer through our lifecycle process and will be deployed with Windows 11.

By the start of the fall semester, all classroom and lab systems will be running Windows 11.
