The University of North Carolina Wilmington has launched its new uncw.edu website to enhance the user experience. This is the first major redesign of the UNCW’s website, which serves as the virtual front door of the university.

The new website reflects UNCW’s dynamic and innovative approach to education and showcases the warm, welcoming coastal lifestyle that draws thousands of Seahawks to campus each year. The modern, engaging design is mobile-friendly and utilizes streamlined navigation, as well as improved functionality and accessibility.

“As digital communications have evolved to be the main source of communications, marketing and business operations, the university needed a website that reflects current standards for best practices and effectively serves our prospective and current students, their parents and families, faculty and staff, alumni and community partners, and other audiences,” said Chancellor Aswani K. Volety. “UNCW is a growing national research institution, and our new website emphasizes dynamic features representing our welcoming and innovative campus culture.”

UNCW’s Offices of University Relations and Information Technology Services coordinated the web redesign project and worked closely with academic units and other administrative divisions in collaboration with Stamats, a higher education integrated marketing company hired to assist with developing the new website.

Before embarking on the new design, the web team gathered input from numerous campus stakeholders and used data from analytics. The result was a structure that better serves audiences’ needs.
