Our training programs introduce campus research support services, teach the basics of sponsored programs, and improve grant writing skills and guide researchers through the administrative structures and processes, improve their grantsmanship.
Hosted by UNCW and facilitated by McAllister & Quinn, this presentation will provide early career investigators insight into the breadth and depth of the federal funding landscape, as well as an overview of the skills needed to be successful. We will review funding opportunities specific for early career investigators across a variety of federal agencies, including the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Department of Defense, National Institutes of Health, and discuss best practices for developing and positioning your research concept for success.

Over two-half days, this online workshop, led by AtKisson Training Group, will address planning and writing successful grant proposals. The two 4-hour sessions combine lectures, interactive discussions, and experiential learning to provide concrete and actionable tools that can impact both the proposal and the researcher.
Every grant proposal is a story that needs to tell the reviewer that you have the right idea, the expertise and resources, and a clear plan to successfully execute a research project. This seminar is designed to help you achieve that through understanding the “why” behind the “how” for each component. It will address the steps you need to take before writing, techniques for creating a strong argument for the proposed project, ways to clearly communicate the research plan, and how the components of a grant proposal connect to the review process.
