The Sociology & Criminology Department supports our students through encouraging scholarship and community service.
We offer several scholarship opportunities that highlight students' participation in their community as well as their participation in the classroom. If you're a student interested in a scholarship, we encourage you to apply.
Sociology & Criminology Club
The UNCW Sociology & Criminology Club serves to increase the awareness of criminal justice and sociological issues and concerns among the students of this university. The main focuses of the organization are career, community, and campus life.

Keely Geyer Latterner
The Keely Geyer Latterner Graduate Student Award
This award is named in honor of Keely Latterner, who received her graduate degree in sociology & criminology in 2013 and passed away in 2016. The award recognizes the graduate student who has demonstrated academic excellence during their matriculation in the program. Only graduate students who have completed their degree requirements during the preceding academic year are eligible.
