Phi Kappa Phi
Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 at the University of Maine. It's the nation’s oldest, largest, and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
It has chapters on over 300 campuses in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Philippines.
Eligibility Requirements
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 24 semester hours or the equivalent.
- Juniors must have completed at least 72 credit hours and rank in the top 7.5% (or higher depending on local chapter standards) of their class.
- Seniors must have completed at least 90 credit hours, with at least 24 semester hours at their current institution, and rank in the top 10% of their class.
- Graduate students must rank in the upper 10% of their class.
- Transfer credits are considered in determining class rank.
- Faculty, professional staff, and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction may also be eligible for membership.

Phi Eta Sigma
Phi Eta Sigma was founded at the University of Illinois on March 22, 1923 to encourage and recognize high scholastic achievement among members of the freshman classes.
It is the oldest and largest honors society for first-year college students in all disciplines and has chapters on 365 campuses across the U.S.
More than 975,000 scholars have been inducted into Phi Eta Sigma.
Eligibility Requirements
First-year students with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale at the close of any full-time curricular period during their first year, and rank in the upper 20% of their class.
