Thank you for working through the all the tasks, trainings, and information in your First Five Days checklist and New Employee Online Essentials! We know it was a lot, but we saved the best for last: UNCW’s New Employee Welcome Seminar!

New Employee Welcome Seminar is an engaging 4-hour in person event that focuses on connection, culture, & impact with a splash of fun mixed in! You also get a free lunch, a t-shirt, and swag! Yay!

Who can attend?

New staff (SHRA, EHRA Non-Faculty, & EPS) who started at UNCW after January 1, 2025, and have completed their First Five Days Checklist and New Employee Online Essentials. Sorry! We love our new faculty members and temporary employees, too, but this event is just for staff. 

When is it?

New Employee Welcome Seminar is offered twice a month – every other month – January, March, May, July, September, and November. All new employees should attend within the first 90 days.

How do I register?

New Employees are invited to register shortly after completing the First Five Days Checklist. Space in each session is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are unable to register for one session, please register for the other option.

What else do I need to do?

After you register, please add the event to your calendar and prioritize attendance. Also, tell us a little bit about yourselves – including your T-shirt size – by completing the form in the registration confirmation email.
