The Finance section of the Division of Business Affairs provides university financial services directly to students and the campus community.
Budget, Planning and Analysis
The Budget Office provides information and guidance to all departments/schools and offices of the university regarding the establishment, revision, reporting, administration, and control of budgets as directed by the Chancellor, Board of Governors, State Budget Director, and North Carolina General Statutes.
The services provided by the Department of Financial Planning and Analysis include comprehensive financial report writing assistance, data visualizations and dashboards, and analyzing historical financial and non-financial data to construct financial models to anticipate future financial outcomes.
Financial Systems
The Financial Systems Office fosters collaboration among university users of the finance and human resource systems by providing system management and integration, innovative process improvement and problem resolution in a forward-thinking service-oriented approach.
Purchasing Services
The Department of Purchasing Services provides direct support to the university by assisting departments in obtaining products and services of a high quality, at the lowest cost, and in the time needed.
Purchasing Services administers relative contracts and leases; manages assets from acquisition through disposal and achieves this mission by processing orders, generating agreements and leases along with tracking equipment in an efficient manner and within the constraints of state purchasing requirements, UNCW policies, and the highest ethical standards.
Student Accounts & Cashier’s Office
The Student Accounts & Cashier's Office provides quality account management services to students, parents, and alumni by proactively assisting them in meeting their financial responsibilities for attendance.
The Student Accounts Office bills tuition, fees, and a variety of other campus-based charges to the student’s account. The Cashier’s Office supports students, parents, and the university departments that process payments, in an ethical and professional manner with a focus on fiscal integrity and accountability.
The Office of the Controller
The mission of the Office of Controller is to record, report, and safeguard the fiscal assets of the university.
In supporting the academic mission of the university, the Controller's Office provides fiscal management that ensures appropriate internal controls and fair representation of the financial position of the university.
The Controller, in partnership with the entire Finance staff, works in collaboration with departments across the university to provide stewardship of the university’s financial resources.
