Global Staff Mobility Award

The University of North Carolina Wilmington has ended the call for participants in the Erasmus Project 2022-1-ES01-KA171-HED-000076873 with University of Huelva in Spain. The original call was posted online in September 2024 for all staff and faculty who may be interested in participation. UNCW Global Partnerships & International Education also published the opportunity in community-wide newsletters and contacted academic departments directly with the opportunity. After posting for 4 months (September to December 2024), the following candidates have been awarded the opportunity: 1. Dr. Jennifer Fernandez-Villa, Director of International Students & Scholars; 2. Dr. Emmanuel Harris, Professor of World Languages & Culture; 3. Ms. Megan Hinson, Education Abroad Advisor. We congratulate our UNCW colleagues on their opportunity to collaborate with University of Huelva in Spain this spring.

Coming this Spring! UNCW’s annual Intercultural Festival (iFest) is a celebration of world cultures featuring music and dance, food, art, and informational booths representing more than 25 countries. iFest fosters a sense of global community and promotes cultural understanding and appreciation.

International Education Week

November 17 to 21, 2025, UNCW hosts activities and events for students and the local community during the national celebration of International Education Week (IEW). This joint initiative between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is celebrated in over 100 countries to demonstrate the importance of international educational experiences.

Eden Briley Receives 2023 Global Citizen Student Award

This scholarship rewards students that are committed to internationalization at UNCW. Eden Briley's video connects her time abroad at University of Stirling in Scotland with her international experiences at UNCW. Her global engagement on campus ranged from being an International Student Mentor as well as a conversation partner for the English Language Center.
