Move-In 2021 Volunteer Information


Thank you for your interest in volunteering for 2021 Move-In! This important tradition this year will take place over two days: Friday, August 13th and Saturday, August 14th. Volunteers are needed to help welcome, check-in, and move-in our brand new Seahawks. Volunteers can choose to serve one or both days, and indicate their preferences for volunteering at the registration form below. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt, breakfast, and lunch.




Volunteer Details:

  • Parking: Parking will be provided for all volunteers on the day of their volunteering in the Parking Deck on the corner of Reynolds and Cahill Drive.
  • Meals: Each day’s volunteers will be provided breakfast, lunch, and snacks on the day(s) they elect to volunteer at Wagoner Dining Hall. Breakfast will be served from 6:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m. and lunch will begin at 1:00 p.m..
  • Check-In: volunteers will check-in at the Seahawk Village Clubhouse between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., unless communicated otherwise. All volunteers must be in their assigned location by 7:30 p.m..
  • What to bring: We suggest all volunteers bring with them a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and hat, as well as clothes they wouldn’t mind getting dirty, very comfortable, closed-toed shoes, and any other items they wish to have with them at Move-In.


Volunteering for Wilmington Community Members:

We always appreciate of our neighbors interested in helping to welcome Wilmington’s newest community members to campus at Move-In. We’ve scaled back the volunteer presence this year due to some changes in the logistics of the day and COVID protocols. Unfortunately, volunteering isn’t open to community members this year. Volunteers must be a student, staff, or faculty member. We appreciate your understanding, and hope to return to a community presence at Move-In in the future.


Due to the large number of people expected, including those who may have not been vaccinated, and the potential for very close contact that might occur during the move-in process, volunteers will be required to wear a face covering while helping students move-in. If COVID-19 conditions change, we will let you know if our plans change accordingly.
