Visit the Honors College

UNCW has a superior visitation program through our Office of Admissions with tours led by the UNCW Student Ambassadors. However, we know that many of our prospective students would like to supplement the official UNCW tour with a visit to the Honors College.

We are delighted to facilitate that visit. We want to help you see what it is like to spend the day as a UNCW Honors student. You will be much better equipped to make your college decision after meeting our faculty, staff, and students and exploring our campus. We think you'll like what you find!

Spring 2019- Special Honors Interest Information Sessions:

Honors College program features and more will be previewed for high school students interested in the Honors College at special Honors visitation days during the spring 2018 semester.

Please mark your calendar for one of these sessions: January 25, February 15, March 22, or April 12.

We will hold 60 minute info sessions on those Fridays- you can come from 9:00-9:45am or 2:00-2:45pm. All sessions will be held in the Randall Library Auditorium (second floor). That will still give you time to have an Admissions Tour that day.

Please let us know which date you plan to attend by completing this survey!

How to Schedule an Individual Honors Visit:

Another option is to schedule an individual Honors visit. We can set up individual visits to campus any day that classes are in session. You can participate in a variety of activities. You can pick and choose events that you would like to attendwe recommend doing them all!

To schedule your visit, simply click on the link provided here and fill out the survey. Within about 72 hours you will receive an email confirmation for your visit and itinerary.

The Honors College visitation program is open from mid-August through the last week of May each year. If the link is down, you can write us at and request a visit. We are here to welcome you!

Before You Visit:

  • Please let us know if there are any special needs for you or your family/guests regarding accessibility. The visit does include a good deal of walking and weather conditions vary. We are happy to accommodate transportation across campus, but we will need to prepare ahead of schedule.
  • Please check the weather conditions prior to your visit. Weather near the coast can change quickly, so be sure to check a local television station (external link) for current weather information.
  • We will have water and coffee for you here in the Honors office, but you may want to come with your own water or beverage for the campus tour during our warmer weather (April-October).
  • An umbrella is always a good thing to have in a coastal climate.
