* Format Approval Sheet (PDF) must be submitted with the draft copy of the thesis.
** ETD Submission Form (PDF) must be submitted with the final thesis.
Note: Draft copy of thesis and final thesis should be emailed to Nancy Holland at hollandn@uncw.edu in PDF format using your UNCW e-mail only.

 

Procedures

The Graduate School only requires electronic copies of your dissertation. All e-mail correspondences must be through your UNCW e-mail account.

Step 1 (Draft Copy Requirements)

  1. Have your draft formatting reviewed by your dissertation committee.
  2. E-mail a draft copy of your dissertation in PDF format to Nancy Holland at hollandn@uncw.edu,
  3. E-mail the completed Format Approval Sheet (PDF) (signed by your committee chair) to Nancy Holland at hollandn@uncw.edu

Step 2 (Final Thesis Requirements)

  1. E-mail your dissertation in PDF format to Nancy Holland at hollandn@uncw.edu.
  2. E-mail a copy of your signed title page to Nancy Holland at hollandn@uncw.edu
    Hint: The signed title page can be a copy of your title page on plain paper and should be signed by your dissertation committee upon successful completion of your thesis. Take a blank printed copy of your title page (no typed committee members names) to your defense for signatures upon completion of your approved defense.
  3. E-mail your ETD Submission Form to Nancy Holland at hollandn@uncw.edu
    Hint: The ETD Submission form does not have to be signed by your committee.

 Step 3 (Uploading Dissertation to Proquest-Beginning Summer 2020)

  1. Create an account on the ProQuest submission site http://www.etdadmin.com/uncw. Be sure to use an email address that you check regularly (including your junk/spam folder) to prevent delays. Once the account is confirmed, you can log in and complete the following steps at any time. (Some schools suggest using a non-university email so that users can have access after they graduate?)
  2. Read and review the information on the ProQuest Instructions page to answer any questions that you may have as you prepare to submit your thesis or dissertation.  Read and agree to the ProQuest Publishing Agreement.
  3. Include or not??  >>Choose whether or not to include your dissertation in the university institutional repository SeahawkDOCKS <<
  4. Provide the requested contact information. Be sure to include current, accurate information.
  5. Provide the requested information on the ProQuest Dissertation/Thesis Details page.
  6. Upload the PDF file of your thesis or dissertation and then any supplemental files (optional), such as data files, graphics, and music or video files. See PDF FAQs for more information.
  7. Choose whether or not you would like ProQuest to file a copyright on your behalf.
  8. Choose whether or not you would like to order printed copies of your document (you may order your copies through the ProQuest site at the time of submission or at a later date).
  9. Pay for any applicable fees with a credit card.
  10. Submit your document using the Submit Dissertation/Thesis button.
