        2. Degree Requirements: Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution. (Master’s degree in Nursing Leadership and Management preferred but applicants with an MS in a nursing specialty other than leadership will also be considered). Applicants with a BSN degree and a master’s in a non-nursing, health-related field (MBA, MPH, MHA, MMHC, etc.) are also eligible to apply for the DNP Executive Leadership Track.
        3. RN License:  Current unrestricted registered nurse (RN) license in the state in which practice will occur.

In order to complete the DNP program, all students are expected to have 1,000 post-baccalaureate practice hours.         3. RN License:  Current unrestricted registered nurse (RN) license in the state in which practice will occur.
        4. APRN:  Advanced Practice RNs (APRN) must have current national certification and be licensed and approved to practice as an APRN in their state of residence and currently employed in an advance practice role.

        A 500-800 word statement of interest written in essay form that is composed of research experiences, other psychology-related experiences, research interests to pursue within graduate school, career goals, and any other additional strengths that will make the applicant an excellent candidate for the graduate program.
      4. Degree & Prerequisite Requirements:  Major of psychology or at least 21 hr. of psychology with a GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) with evidence of a grade of at least a B- in a course in statistics and a grade of at least a B in a course in psychology research methods.
      5. Interview:  Interview with the Department of Psychology faculty required to determine faculty research match.
      6. Note:  Individuals can apply to the Psychological Science or the Applied Behavioral Analysis concentrations, if they have a master’s in Psychology. At this time, individuals cannot apply to the General Clinical concentration if they have a master’s in Psychology.
      7. Review Timline:  Our timeline is built around moving as many complete applications as possible through our process starting on the week after December 4. Therefore, having a complete application within a couple of days of December 4 is the ideal. Every application submitted during our application window will receive fair and equal consideration. We will move them through in batches as they come in.  We expect to invite selected applicants for interviews in late January, which is why having a complete application by the priority deadline is important.

Ideal Candidates:  The ideal candidate for the MHA is an early to mid-level careerist (the student) who presents with a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related discipline [i.e., business (with a healthcare concentration), healthcare administration, public health, nursing, or other allied health disciplines] and a minimum of at least one (1) year of work experience in a healthcare-related  field (including, not limited to: hospital, out-patient facility, public health entity, long-term care, etc.).  Candidates who meet the ideal entrance requirements of a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field and one (1) year of work experience in a healthcare related field can request a waiver of the required HCA 593 and 594 practicum courses after being admitted into the program.
