    • 3 professional letters of recommendations to be submitted through the online application to substantiate practice and leadership capabilities (one each from a former nurse faculty member and a current or former employer, preferred).

    Additional Requirements

    1. All applicants must be Advanced Practice Registered Nurses with an earned master's degree in nursing or post-master's certificate from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) is required.
    2. Current unrestricted registered nurse (RN) license in the state in which practice will occur.
    3. Advanced Practice RNs (APRN - CNS, CRNA, CNM, NP) must have current national certification and be licensed and approved to practice as an APRN in their state of residence and currently employed in an advanced practice role.
    4. GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher on all previous  graduate coursework  as documented by official transcripts with evidence of completion of  graduate level  pathophysiology, pharmacology, and advanced physical assessment courses from a regionally accredited college or university
    5. Essay

    • GRE Psychology Subject Test required in addition to the General Test if bachelor's degree was not in the area of psychology. This test is offered infrequently.

    • 3 recommendations to be submitted through the online application. At least two letters must be from faculty members. All three letters must be from professionals in a psychology-related field.

      2. Statement of Interest: 500-800 word essay that is composed of your research experiences, other psychology-related experiences, research interests to pursue within graduate school, career goals, and any other additional strengths that will make you an excellent candidate for our graduate program
      3. Applicants that have earned a master's degree in psychology are not a candidate for the Ph.D. in Psychology program at UNCW.
      4. Major of psychology or at least 21 hours of psychology with a GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) with evidence of a grade of at least a B- in a course in statistics and a grade of at least a B in a course in psychology research methods.

        The Statement of Purpose should articulate the goal the candidate would like to pursue in the M.F.A. program. The Statement of Purpose must also include links to creative film or video work uploaded to Vimeo.com, and a description of the work that includes your role in each project, and the date each project was completed.
      2. A sample of creative film or video work
        You may submit multiple samples of creative work, but the total running time of all samples must be at least 5 minutes and no more than 20 minutes. All creative work samples must be uploaded to Vimeo.com, with links and descriptions included in the Statement of Purpose. More information about Vimeo.com is available HERE.
      3. Work in other media (i.e. still photographs, audio projects, or a written script) may be submitted, but at least one example of filmmaking work is required. The application allows up to three uploads of work in other media, each with a maximum size of 20mb.
