UNCW Economics and Finance Honors Students Present Research at Dallas Fed

Five honors students from the department of Economics and Finance presented their research at the Economic Scholars Program Undergraduate Research Conference on April 6, 2018. The students were accompanied by their honors thesis advisors: Dr. Adam Jones, Associate Professor of Economics, Dr. Ethan Watson, Assistant Professor of Finance and Dr. Daniel Soques, Assistant Professor of Economics. The students and their research presentations are:
  • Alex Paplazaros: Impact of Public Debt on Growth Consequences of U.S. State Debt
  • Banks Osborne: The Co-movement of and International Spillover Effects of Economics Policy Uncertainty
  • Rebekah Banks: Corruption, Development and Economic Growth: A Country-Level Analysis
  • Patricia Ripoll Martinez: Has Bank Debt Been Replaced By High Yield Bonds for Medium to Low Credit Barrowers
  • Cole Langlois: Sectoral Financial Cycles and Monetary Policy
  • Caleb Kuhne and Garrett Wade did an Economics research project under the Koch Fellowship
  • Ashton Russell traveled to the ESP conference to serve as a discussant
