Lolita Bryant: MSN-NE, RN, Lecturer
Lolita Bryant joined the School of Nursing in 2013, brining with her more than 35 years nursing experience from New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Her area of expertise is in maternity nursing and in adult health. Bryant received her associate’s degree in nursing from James Sprunt Community College and graduate from UNCW in 2004 with her BSN. She was a recipient of the Duke Endowment Scholarship from NHRMC in 2008 and returned to UNCW where she earned her MSN in nurse education in 2011.
Her graduate work examined the efficacy of a postpartum depression education program to increase the knowledge of registered nurses practicing in acute care settings which she received the “Make a Difference Day” award for as well as presented at the NC Conference of Graduate Schools in Raleigh. Bryant also makes time for involvement in student and alumni engagement at UNCW, where she serves as secretary of the Executive Committee of the UNCW Alumni Board of Directors and is the past chair of the African American Graduate Association from 2009-2011.
