Civic-Minded Teaching: Designing Learning Experiences for Engaged Citizenship

Friday, April 13
10 – 11 a.m.
CTE Conference Room

Civic-minded teaching encourages students to see themselves as active participants in society with a responsibility to work with others toward public purposes. Join us as we discuss how to integrate or enhance civic engagement in your courses—no matter your discipline—through the design of practical and meaningful civic learning experiences. We will discuss frameworks for thinking about engaged citizenship and how they can inform course objectives, classroom climate, assignments and assessment strategies. Jacquelyn Lee (social work) and Kristen DeVall (sociology and criminology) will facilitate our discussion. Hope to see you there!
