2021 Virtual Science Fair Additional Forms
To protect the health and safety of our students, the NC Science and Engineering Fair is going virtual! Students will create a Presentation and Quad Chart to share their project. More details on this year's virtual science and engineering fair can be found in the 2021 Frequently Asked Questions.
2021 NCSEF is Going Virtual!
At the September 15th NC Science Fair Foundation Board of Directors Meeting, it was decided that the 2020-2021 NC Science and Engineering Fair, at both the regional and state level, will be conducted virtually for all three divisions, Elementary (grades 3-5), Junior (grade 6-8), and Senior (grades 9-12).
The NC Science Fair offered three “office hour sessions” this fall for educators. The purpose of these sessions was to create a space for teachers supporting students in scientific inquiry and engineering design to have a conversation about how to offer this support as the school environment continues to shift. They are appropriate for both those who have historically participated, as well as those who are interested in learning more about supporting student research.
We realize that due to the pandemic, county competitions may not occur. Please note that students who wish to participate in the regional NCSEF may advance from either your local school system’s fair or they may advance directly from their school or classroom level competition to the regional competition.
If you were not able to attend office hours, you can use this overview video of the research process and timeline to get you started. Additionally, you are welcome to reach out to the fair director for your region or Judy Day, the Statewide Fair Director of NCSEF at director@ncsciencefair.org.
