The Seahawk Success Program has been developed to help former students come back and finish their degrees at UNCW.  A benefit to this program is that before you formally re-apply, you can meet with a Seahawk Success Advisor to make the process easier and answer your initial questions.  The Seahawk Success Advisor can help determine the best degree completion pathway for you.

To qualify for the Seahawk Success Program, you must:  

  • Have been previously enrolled as a degree-seeking student at UNCW
  • Have completed at least 70 hours of college credit
  • Have been away from UNCW for at least one year
  • Be in good academic, disciplinary, and financial standing

After that, the Seahawk Success Advisor will contact you to set up a convenient time to have a virtual meeting to begin looking at possible options for you to return to UNCW.        

Things to discuss during your initial meeting:

  • Your academic record, including possible coursework taken at other institutions.  
  • Do you wish to continue in your previous major, or are you interested in pursuing a different degree/career path?
  • When you might want to return to school.
  • Taking classes full time or part-time?
  • Do you want to take face to face classes or explore online options?
  • Time needed to complete your degree of choice.
  • Begin to map out potential hours needed to complete your degree of choice.
  • Questions or concerns you may have about resuming your education.  
  • The advisor will help reach out to other departments on campus to answer some of your questions or coordinate services for when you return.  Some of these offices may include:

Ready to Re-enroll?  

Follow the steps below to re-apply:

  1. Complete the Residency Classification if you are claiming to be a North Carolina Resident 
    • Once you complete the process, you will receive a Residency Certification Number (RCN)
    • You will add the RCN to your Re-Enrollment Application
    • All applications without an RCN will be labeled as out of state for tuition purposes
  2. Create College Foundation of North Carolina account: College Foundation of North Carolina
    • If you have already created an account, you can log on under ‘Returning Users’ and enter the same login that you used for NC Residency.org or CFNC.org.
    • If you have not already created a CFNC account, you can click the ‘New Users’ button to create an account
    • Submit online application through College Foundation of North Carolina as a reenrollment student
    • Submit $80 application fee
    • Submit official transcripts from any 2-year or 4-year college you may have attended while away from UNCW
