Spanish Minor Program Overview

Reading, Writing, Speaking

Gain the ability to converse in social situations on a range of topics. Be able to read short stories, news items, bibliographical information, social notices, personal correspondence and business letters and conduct research. Take notes and write correspondence, narratives, descriptions, and analytical essays—all in Spanish!

Internships and Service Learning

The program has agreements with several agencies in the region to receive student interns. Internships provide you with practical experience involving observation and application of foreign language.

Study Abroad

Students in the Spanish language program are encouraged to take advantage of one of UNCW's study abroad programs.

Requirements for a Minor in Spanish

Completion of a minimum of 21 hours at the 200 level and above. Of these, at least 15 hours must be at the 300 level or higher.

A grade of “C-“ or better is required in each course counted toward the minor and a “C” (2.00) average or better for all courses counted toward the minor.
