Department of Music audition requirements for classical guitar are as follows.

Classical Guitar Audition Requirements

Perform two compositions of contrasting style that best represent your performance level. The compositions need not be long and may include a representative etude. In addition, you will be asked to perform major scales and to sight-read passages chosen to suit your technical capabilities.

Selections from the following repertoire are encouraged but not required. Substitutions of equal difficulty and style are welcome.

  • Matteo Carcassi - 25 Etudes, op. 60
  • Ernesto García de León - 20 Estudios
  • Carlo Domeniconi - Klangbilder
  • Andrés Segovia - Diatonic Major and Minor Scales
  • Mauro Giuliani - 120 Right-Hand Studies
