Bachelor of Social Work

Earn your Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree online in as few as five semesters at UNC Wilmington.

Graduates will be prepared to be generalist social workers who can work with individuals, families, groups, and communities in diverse professional settings.

About the HS2SW Program

The unique program is designed for students who have completed a relevant Associate of Applied Science degree at a North Carolina community college* to complete their bachelor’s degree in social work. To be eligible for the AAS transfer option, students must first meet all requirements and gain admission to University of North Carolina Wilmington from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Students must submit transcripts demonstrating successful completion of an Associate of Applied Science in Human Services Technology or Associate of Applied Science in Social and Human Services degree from a North Carolina Community College.

From Personal Experiences to a Career Path

Stephanie Massey and Jessika Poisel are students in the new UNCW Human Services Technology - Bachelor of Social Work (HST-BSW) extension program. Both recently graduated from Carteret Community College with their associate’s degree and were influenced by life-changing events that led them to pursue an undergraduate degree and career in social work.
