Bachelor of Social Work

Earn your Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree online in as few as five semesters at UNC Wilmington.

Graduates will be prepared to be generalist social workers who can work with individuals, families, groups, and communities in diverse professional settings.

About the HST-BSW Program

The unique program is designed for students who have completed a relevant Associate of Applied Science degree at a North Carolina community college* to complete their bachelor’s degree in social work. To be eligible for the AAS transfer option, students must first meet all requirements and gain admission to University of North Carolina Wilmington from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Students must submit transcripts demonstrating successful completion of an Associate of Applied Science degree from a North Carolina Community College in one of the following areas:

  • Human Services Technology (A45380)
  • Human Services Technology: Addiction and Recovery Studies (A45380)
  • Human Services Technology: Mental Health (A4538C)
  • Human Services Technology: Gerontology (A4538B)
  • Human Services Technology: Social Services (A4538C)
