The school views a system of honor rolls as additional means for encouraging goal setting by students in Grades 3 through 8. The same criteria are to be used for exceptional children.
Students and parents shall be informed of the honor roll system in order to ensure an understanding of the specific grades and methods of computation.
The principal shall promote public recognition of students who have attained honor roll status.
CRITERIA FOR HONOR ROLLS
Grades 3-5
- ‘A’ Honor Roll
Student received an ‘A’ in every class - ‘A/B’ Honor Roll
Cumulative ‘B’ average
Students with a grade in any class that is lower than ‘C’ are ineligible for both the ‘A’ and ‘A/B’ Honor Rolls
Students with a ‘U’ in citizenship are ineligible for both the ‘A’ and ‘A/B’ Honor Rolls
Grades 6-8
- A Honor Roll
Student received an A in every class - A/B Honor Roll
Cumulative B average
A four-point scale will be used without rounding off Extra credit is not to be given for weighted courses
Students with a grade in any class that is lower than C are ineligible for both the A and A/B Honor Rolls
