Ignite the Power of STEM NC Competitive Grant Program
Junior Seahawk Academy 2016 sessions were funded in part by a grant from the Biogen Foundation's Ignite the Power of STEM North Carolina grant program, which is administered by the North Carolina Community Foundation.

The NCCF is the single statewide community foundation serving North Carolina and has made $101 million in grants since its inception in 1988. With more than $237 million in assets, NCCF sustains 1,200 endowments established to provide long-term support of a broad range of community needs, nonprofit organizations, institutions and scholarships. NCCF partners with 60 affiliate foundations to provide local resource allocation and community assistance in 67 counties across the state, with an emphasis on rural areas.
Charles L. Cahill Grant for Faculty Scholarship

Junior Seahawk Academy 2016 sessions were funded in part by the Charles L. Cahill Grant for Faculty Scholarship, which is administered by the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Charles L. Cahill Grants for Faculty Scholarship are awarded to full-time faculty to promote scholarship broadly across the University. Faculty members from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply for funds to support their scholarship efforts. Funding is awarded to: (a) provide seed money for the initiation of projects that subsequently may attract funding from other sources; (b) encourage the pursuit of new areas of research, scholarship or artistic endeavors; (c) fund travel in support of research; or (d) encourage the development of specific professional skills within one's discipline.
